Students will explore the 4 moons of Jupiter also known as the Galilean moons. During our exploration we will discuss the meaning behind their name, important features of each moon and even compare and contrast them to our moon. Students are invited to participate in the discussion whether it be asking questions or sharing any prior knowledge with the class. Students will not be forced to participate if they are more comfortable listening to the information being shared and presented. However, I will check-in with all students to ensure everyone comprehends the information. Slides containing relevant images will be shared with the class to aid in the discussion.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify the 4 Galilean moons. They will be able to discuss key features that we currently know about for each moon.

Hello!
UPDATE: I am taking a break from Outschool. After the spring semester of 2024 ends, I will take a hiatus.
I offer a variety of science and math classes. I have close to ten years of teaching experience. I've worked with students of all ages including young adults. I experience teaching in the classroom and teaching virtually. I have a B.A. from Louisiana State University.
I've helped tutoring student reach their goals whether it's to pass a standardized test or get a passing grade in a course.
I think that a basic understanding of science enhances one's life. It opens up a world hidden to most people. Studying science and math helps children to develop critical thinking skills that can be applied to all areas of life. My goal in all my classes is to inspire the students to study science. I want them to always ask questions and to stay curious.

When I am not teaching or prepping for classes, I enjoy crafting, reading, working out, and spending time with my dog.
