Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 5
In this one-time class, students will learn about the electron. They will learn where they can be found in the atom. They will learn how to predict where electrons will be and be able to use the periodic table to find this information.

I keep my class size small so students can have time to participate in the lesson. Students are free to ask questions or they can listen quietly. I know each student is different, and I do my best to accommodate each student.

This is the last class in a series of classes for younger students. They are meant to be an introduction to some of Chemistry's basic ideas. You can see the series here:

Hello!

UPDATE: I am taking a break from Outschool. After the spring semester of 2024 ends, I will take a hiatus.

I offer a variety of science and math classes. I have close to ten years of teaching experience. I've worked with students of all ages including young adults. I experience teaching in the classroom and teaching virtually. I have a B.A. from Louisiana State University.

I've helped tutoring student reach their goals whether it's to pass a standardized test or get a passing grade in a course.

I think that a basic understanding of science enhances one's life. It opens up a world hidden to most people. Studying science and math helps children to develop critical thinking skills that can be applied to all areas of life. My goal in all my classes is to inspire the students to study science. I want them to always ask questions and to stay curious.

Please reach out to me if you don't see a time that works for your child. I will try to be accommodating if it is possible.

When I am not teaching or prepping for classes, I enjoy crafting, reading, working out, and spending time with my dog.

"If you are scientifically literate the world looks very different to you. And that understanding empowers you." -Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson
