Class experience
US Grade 1 - 3
Ron Roy's Calendar Mystery books are quick, funny, and best of they all they are real detective stories. Each month I like to host a book club to discuss the corresponding book! This month we will be reading September Sneakers. With a level N reading level from Scholastic, and plentiful illustrations these are fantastic for readers beginning to show interest in well developed chapter books. Generally ages 6-9. In this book club we will meet once a week to discuss the assigned chapters...
Students will further their reading comprehension and inference skills as they develop a connection with books and reading. We will also work on our social skills as we practice active listening, and learn to respond to peers with meaningful, open ended questions.
Homework Offered
Each week a section of reading will be assigned. Students will be asked to gather interesting vocabulary words and text clues between meetings. Optional assignments designed to enrich student experience will also be provided.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
