Beginner Level
What will be taught? Students will be taught how to discover and leverage their natural talents to create and run a real business over 12 weeks. The course will focus on self-discovery, teamwork, creativity, resilience, and long-term growth, helping students apply their unique strengths in practical business settings. How is your class structured? The class is structured in five stages, each focusing on different aspects of the learning journey. Each week includes interactive activities like games, role-playing, and reflections to ensure hands-on learning. How will you teach? The teaching approach includes interactive games, storytelling, role-playing, project-based learning, and real-world simulations. There will be video clips, discussions, and activities like newsletters and customer engagement exercises that allow students to apply what they’ve learned in practical settings. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is highly interactive and student-centered. I blend real-world experiences with structured guidance to help students not only learn concepts but apply them in meaningful ways. The emphasis is on hands-on learning, creativity, and reflection. How much will learners get to interact with you? Learners will interact with me through: Guided Discussions: These will introduce key concepts and allow students to reflect and ask questions. Games and Activities: Hands-on games like design thinking, problem-solving challenges, and resilience role-play will be a big part of the learning process. Storytelling: Students will participate in creating newsletters to share their progress and reflect on their learning. Videos and Simulations: Video clips showcasing examples and role-playing activities will guide learning and discussion. This mix of teaching methods ensures regular and meaningful interaction between students, me, and their peers throughout the course.

Parents will use the free TalentExplorer tool once before the class as the main resource for discovering their child's talents. Students will also engage with videos featuring young entrepreneurs for additional inspiration. All third-party tools and resources, including TalentExplorer, will be accessible without the need for students to create accounts.

I have extensive experience working with young entrepreneurs, helping them discover and develop their talents to launch real-world business ventures. My background includes launching three businesses, as well as instructional design, creating educational programs focused on entrepreneurship, AI literacy, and practical life skills for youth audiences. I have guided students through the business creation process, ensuring they not only learn but apply their skills in real-world contexts.
At Dream Chaser Kids, I work with students ages 6-17, particularly from underserved communities, helping them develop entrepreneurial thinking, problem-solving, and innovation skills. We engage students in business creation and AI literacy across a network of trusted partners, including the YMCA, The Ark Academy, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, Homeschool Central, and TMSA Charters. My programs align with partner missions and focus on key outcomes that enhance student engagement and academic performance.
With over 700 students engaged in personalized, self-directed learning, I have fostered creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving, empowering students to turn their strengths into successful ventures. My experience uniquely equips me to lead students through meaningful entrepreneurial challenges and real-world business experiences.
