Minecraft is owned by Mojang This is a 10 week course. We will start a Minecraft build from scratch to a finished build. My teaching style is relaxed, playful, and patient. I want your student have as much hands on as possible. I have intermediate experience. I am continuously learning how to create in Minecraft. I can't wait to learn and share what we know about Minecraft together. We will be critiquing and valuating each others work. We will give constructive criticism to help your...
This class is taught in English.
The skills that I am trying to teach your student is creativity, thinking outside the box, commitment, perseverance through a project, and constructive criticism. I want each student to critique how their classmates and I are doing in our builds. The objective is to become a better builder. I want the students to get out of their comfort zones and dare to create while having fun.
A student might not be able to finish a task in class so it is okay if the student wants to finish the task on their own before the next class. I don't want the student to stress out about it. If they want to wait till the next class to finish the task that is okay with me. Just know that they might be behind and will need to work on two tasks. If the student is moving quickly in class then I invite them to use this time to create another project following the steps they have learned. Remember to have fun. *** Your student may come on the server if I am teaching a class at the same time. Please make sure that your student isn't disruptive to the other students participating in the class or I will have to ask them to leave and have them come back on at a later time. Your student is welcome to quietly work on their build. When I'm available and they need help I can help them as long as it doesn't take away from the students in the current class. ***** If you have any questions about this I am happy to answer them. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
This class is in no way affiliated with Mojang. The opinions expressed are our own and doesn't reflex on Mojang or any affiliate. Your student needs to have a Java addition. (I will be teaching a Bedrock version in a separate class.) They need access to their own account or a family account. We will be on a server that I will provide for them. If you have questions or concerns please let me know.
We will be critiquing each others work with kindness and helpful feedback. A student will know that they are progressing by their confidence and progress of their build. If they are excited and become happily passionate about their build then I think that is a success of progress.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
****In order for us to have a great experience, I will need to know your student's gamer tag or it will be seen by other students. To keep the student safe I will require you to private message me their gamer tag. We will need to go on a separate server for this class so we can see each other and I can help one on one with students. ****
