Minecrafters! Welcome This class consists of an overview of what it takes to run your own Minecraft java server at home on your computer. Subject(s): Minecraft Java Server Intro and Overview Topic: What makes a Minecraft Server? Age: 7 to 12 Objective: Understanding the parts of a PC and knowing the steps to start your own personal Minecraft Java server at home. Includes PC components, different types of Minecraft servers, important files needed and how they work together, and add-ons that make your server more advanced Time Allotment: 90 min - 1 time class Learning Context The following topics will be covered in this one time class: Topic 1 - your computer becomes your server Hardware - power supply, graphics card (GPU), your processor (CPU), RAM, fan, hard drive Software - java and Minecraft java Monitor your computer Topic 2 - Minecraft server files Where to find them - resources provided with links to websites necessary What files are needed Different type of servers means different files Topic 3 - Building out your server Resource packs Plugins Create your own skins Learn commands This class will meet 1 time over zoom. Your child will learn by lecture, screen sharing, and a 30 min session of Q&A while playing on a private server. It is important for your child to own Minecraft Java, and have it set up and ready to go before the beginning of class. Additional information will be shared with you once you are signed up!

Students will gain knowledge about computer hardware and software and learn the basics of creating their own Minecraft server at home.

Supply List
Minecraft Java on Windows Headset (optional but helpful) /speakers and microphone will be necessary to communicate with other students and the teacher. Zoom will be used to video conference this class. Resources used will be posted on the google classroom. Please make sure to have your child sign up when the link is provided.
