Students will be assessed informally through discussion, the sorting activity, and the final draw/write activity.Class Experience
In this interactive class, students will learn what a bucket filler is and how they can be one! We will begin class by discussing what it means to be a bucket filler. Then the students will engage in a read aloud called "Bucket Filling from A to Z" written by Carol McCloud and Caryn Butzke. The book goes through each letter of the alphabet and describes a way to be a bucket filler doing something that begins with that letter (ex. letter I- invite). After the story we will discuss some ways to be a bucket filler and sort different scenarios to determine if it is a bucket filling choice or bucket dipping choice. At the end of class students will be given the opportunity to choose a letter and draw and/or write a way to be a bucket filler using that letter.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of kindness and how to be a kind person (a bucket filler).
