In this Broadway Dance class, we will step ball-change and turn our way to upbeat show tunes! We will learn Jazz dance terminology and explore our creativity with learning a fun dance to "We Go Together" from the hit musical, Grease! This class is structured into three sections. First, we will begin with a discussion about the musical Grease and when it first appeared on screen and on Broadway! Then, we will go into a Jazz based warm-up, followed by a technique section where we will cover movement that will be in the dance such as fan kicks, single turns and more. Lastly, class will end with learning an upbeat Jazz dance to a version of "We Go Together" from Grease! Your Learner will feel like a true Broadway star after this class, and will have an awesome dance to show off to family and friends! No prior dance experience is required for this class, but if you have danced before, that is great! I will demonstrate all movement, breaking down each step so all students are set up for success. As a teacher, I aim to always create a warm and welcoming environment in my classes where all students have the opportunity to learn, grow and explore their inner creativity! Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything additional I can do to make your child more at ease in my classes. *Miss Marin follows copyright laws when it comes to music used. Parental Guidance
Since Dance is a physical activity, it is recommended there be adult supervision throughout class as there is always a level of risk and injury that can occur with any physical activity. Please have a space cleared of debris and clutter (minimum 4X4 ft square) so your learner can move about freely and safely. Having a water bottle or water near is important in case your learner gets thirsty during class (we will take a short designated water break during class). Safety is my #1 priority as a teacher, so let's make sure your learner is in a safe environment so we can have fun dancing together!
Supply List
You should be in a space cleared from clutter and debris so it is safe to move about freely. Bring some water or a water bottle in case you get thirsty! Clothes that are comfortable to move in as well as dance shoes, socks or bare feet is fine.
External Resources
