Note:

I have recently accepted a full-time position and now teach very few classes on Outschool. At this time, I am unable to accommodate class requests. Thank you!

Well-behaved women seldom make history, and in this class we will meet 10 defiant women in US history who didn't ask permission to make their mark on the world. Students will learn about some well-known troublemakers like Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks, but also about lesser-known rebel-rousers such as Alice Paul and Dolores Huerta.

I will use a self-made PowerPoint with visuals, interesting anecdotes and mini-quizzes to introduce these women to the students. A handout will be provided that can be filled out during class to help students remember and synthesize the information. We will discuss the traits that these women posses and how these qualities helped them to make a difference in our country's history. I will finish class with a discussion about how these women can inspire us to practice resilience in our own lives.

I am a passionate educator and am known for my energetic, storytelling teaching style. I love sharing this information with students!

Here is the full list of women we will be learning about:

Alice Paul
Rosa Parks
Deborah Sampson
Harriet Tubman
