Well-behaved women seldom make history, and in this class we will meet 10 defiant women in US history who didn't ask permission to make their mark on the world. Students will learn about some well-known troublemakers like Harriet Tubman and Rosa Parks, but also about lesser-known rebel-rousers such as Alice Paul and Dolores Huerta. I will use a self-made PowerPoint with visuals, interesting anecdotes and mini-quizzes to introduce these women to the students. A handout will be provided that...

I have been teaching for over 15 years and I have a Master's degree in education, including a K-8 Social Studies endorsement.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
