Break Dance: Flexibility Camp (Level 4)
What's included
10 live meetings
9 hrs 10 mins in-class hoursHomework
1-2 hours per week. All "homework" is referred to as "training" to reinforce the goal of building skills rather than the negative connotation that the word "work" has. Training is listed in the daily worksheets with reminders in the recap videos. 5 - 20 minutes of practice a day is highly recommended for students to grow steadily in their skills and confidence. I can not stress enough the importance/power of cultivating a daily 5-minute habit that can develop their focus, skills, and confidence independently faster outside of class.Assessment
The final week is dedicated to reviewing the certified tough challenges of camp (aka the toughest moves/skills of camp).Class Experience
Safety has also been a top priority in my camps and this time we focus on the safe ways to prepare for harder moves: with stretches. Students will learn new stretches and exercises for improving their flexibility as they begin trying moves that require more flexibility. Teacher will also give a preview to what students can achieve once they improve their limberness and flexibility. CAMP BONUSES: - Recap Videos: Students can review the moves and choreography with additional recap videos. - Access to family friendly canon of Breakdance music for practicing - Certificate of Completion with NEW TITLES (Flex-pert, bendable breaker) Weekly Breakdown Week 1 (Ankles, Hips, & Splits) Week 2 (Wrists, Knees, & Sprain Advice) Week 3 (Shoulder, Back, Shoulder Moves, & Bridge Work) Week 4 (Bonus Stretches + Intro to Threads) Week 5 (Certified Tough Check + Contest & Games Day)
Learning Goals
By the end of Camp Students will
- know a variety of stretches to warm-up and prepare for dancing
- be able to include flexible elements to their moves
- create new moves and dance more confidently

My "Outschool Breakdance" Spotify playlist is an external resource available for all students. You'll need to create a basic account to access it for free (on shuffle mode) or a paid account to select specific songs from the list. Music is a mix of hip-hop and funk, but has been screened for appropriate lyrics.
Wrist warm-ups/exercises will be required for learning/practicing the bottomrock moves. It is also advisable that students should wear comfortable shoes (sneakers) and clothes for dancing (not oversized). As well, students should have a clear open space for dancing and a distance from the computer that allows me to see them from head to toe in order to ensure they're doing the moves properly. A water bottle is also required for brief breaks.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I traveled around the world (40+ countries) while teaching and learning from the local dancers. Also, I was mentored by a world renown breakdancer while living in Korea for three years. This mentorship mixed with my experience and personal training has made me particularly knowledgeable and skilled in the topic.
