Students will then have an opportunity to ask questions and work through a few examples together. Finally, the students will have a chance to work through problems independently while getting support from the teacher. All students will have the chance to ask questions and receive guidance from the teacher. This class is best suited for students who...
This class is taught in English.
The student will solve division problems using the box algorithm. Students will be able to evaluate and decide if this algorithm is a good fit for them.
As a classroom teacher for 11 years and as an instructional coach for 5, I learned very quickly than many students struggle with division. The box algorithm helps students as they are trying to understand division and the place value concepts involved. I have used this method with teachers and students for many years and found great success.
Students will need paper and a pencil or a small white board with dry erase marker and eraser.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
