Class Experience

🍬 ᴘᴀʀᴇɴᴛꜱ🍬.
We are transitioning this social club to GROUPS -> Join our Outschool Group! https://bit.ly/bb_os_group
and connect with your baking community! Have your young baker join us there to build our community! $1 per month.

We like to begin clubs with, at least, 3 participants!! However, if it is amenable to the learners and their adults we are always pleased to share with a single learner. There is no regularly scheduled baking during our club, except when we schedule a workshop (with plenty of notice to accommodate schedules and no additional charges will apply).

Whether you’re a skilled baker or new to the flour game, our Club has something for all learners! This club is absolutely 'Child-Led' - we riff off each other and topics run the gamut. 'Sticky Toffee Pudding and whether Harry Potter did, in fact, eat it.' 'Gummy Bears From Jell-o, YES WE CAN!' 'Zippy Bag Ice Cream and yeah it's best without the salt seeping into the bag..." These are just a few of the topics we've had crop up in this club!

Other Details

Parental Guidance
We recommend spending as much time in the kitchen, practicing the techniques discussed and baking up the treats we go over. As we go we'll prepare and make ready each weekly recipe, which your learner will make and then when we meet we'll discuss that bake - and the following bake for the coming week! If your learner is completely inexperienced, we recommend you join them in the kitchen to help them build their confidence!!
Supply List
Learners will be using a variety of cooking tools including the stovetop and oven, pots, pans, baking sheets, cupcake pans, scales, weights and measures, cups and spoons, knives, etc.

We will provide a recipe the week before each club meeting begins.
All ingredients should be easily found at your local grocery store.
Basic baking/cooking tools will be needed (i.e. measuring cups/spoons, cake tins, mixers, bowl, pans, etc.)

Please ensure your learner has two very important tools for every baker to make their experience a wee bit easier:
KITCHEN SCALE with GRAM measures
Stand Mixer or Electric Hand Mixer
 1 file available upon enrollment
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
