Jump into life with Charlotte and Wilbur through this Self-Paced 3-week Book Club. Students are led by videos, written work, and digital games. I aim to help students love to read while working on important reading skills.

Class experience

Follows Teacher-Created Curriculum
Aligned with Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
3 lessons//3 Weeks
 Week 1
Lesson 1
Chapters 1-9
Students will read with me and independently. Then, will be assigned written work to be completed before the end of week one. Discussion and answer video will also be provided. Students will end the week with a fun review digital game.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Chapters 10-15
Students will read with me and independently. Then, they will be assigned a digital activity and written work to be completed before the end of week two. Discussion and answer video will also be provided. Students will end the week with a fun review digital game.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Chapters 16-22
Students will read with me and independently. Then, they will be assigned written work to be completed before the end of week three. Students will end with a culminating digital evaluation.
Students will enjoy the story of Charlotte's Web and learn how to find the main idea of a chapter. 
🎓 My Background and Qualifications:

Hi! I'm Kimberly Baust. The kids usually call me Mrs. B or Ms. Kim! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child. 
I have a:
⭐️ B.S. and Masters degree in Elementary Education.
⭐️ Taught in the classroom for over 25 years! 
⭐️ Taught in grades 3-6 during the school day
⭐️ Worked with students from K-12 after school and in the summers
⭐️ Taught in public school
⭐️ Majority of my years in the classroom were in elite private schools. 
⭐️ Have been certified to teach grades K-6 in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia! 

Teaching is my calling and my passion. I love to teach children and help them reach their full potential. I look forward to working with your child and getting to know them!
Homework Offered
Students will be assigned reading each week in addition to a corresponding graphic organizer. Students will also watch multiple videos and complete a digital review game. The time required will depend on the student's independent reading speed.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students are given a digital (Google Form) assessment at the end of the book. It is required for those who are seeking a grade. In addition, I award digital bookmarks to those students who take the test and score an 80% or higher.
Grades Offered
I am happy to provide a grade upon request. Please let me know at the beginning of the class, as all work must be submitted for those wanting to earn a grade.
Students should be able to independently read on a third-grade reading level. 
Every student must have his/her own copy of Charlotte's Web. Students may also choose to listen to the audio-book. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Common Sense Media states that this book is appropriate for ages 7 and up. 

There is the death of one of the main characters due to age (spider.) And Wilbur the pig is fearful of being killed and eaten by the farmer's family. 

I have taught this book to third graders for many years and never had an issue with either of these topics.
