This is an English Reading Book Club for students who are developing their love of reading, writing, thinking and sharing their ideas. This class is aimed at beginner readers to broaden their vocabulary, improve recognition of words, develop phonics and handwriting too. Learners will develop their reading fluency, comprehension skills including knowledge of phonics, vocabulary, guessing meaning of words from context, sharing ideas and developing communication skills. Which books will be covered? Week Beginning 3/2/25 – Deadliest Animals Week Beginning 10/2/25 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Week Beginning 17/2/25 – Cats vs Dogs Week Beginning 24/2/25 – Sonia Sotomayor Week Beginning 3/3/25 – Nelson Mandela Week Beginning 10/3/25 – Water Week Beginning 17/3/25 – Woof! Week Beginning 24/3/25 – Whales Week Beginning 31/3/25 – Elephants Week Beginning 7/4/25 – Cleopatra Week Beginning 14/4/25 – Great Migrations: Butterflies Week Beginning 21/4/25 – Robots Week Beginning 28/4/25 – Wildfires Week Beginning 5/5/25 – Titanic Each week will include vocabulary, comprehension and input. Parental Guidance
Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.
Supply List
Learners will need a notebook, pencil and crayons for each class. The books are required for this class. Students may use e-books, hardcopy and paperbacks, or audiobooks to read and comprehend the text.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
