In this ongoing book club, learners will develop their comprehension, vocabulary, spelling and more. Come and discover the adventures of the Gruffalo, The Highway Rat, Zog and Stick Man together! ESL friendly. Week of 2/9/24 - The Snail and the Whale Week of 9/9/24 - The Gruffalo's Child Week of 16/9/24 - Charlie Cook's Favourite Book Week of 23/9/24 - Stick Man Week of 30/9/24 - The Smartest Giant in Town Week of 7/10/24 - Zog Week of 14/10/24 - Monkey Puzzle Week of 21/10/24 - A Squash and a Squeeze Week of 28/10/24 - Superworm Week of 4/11/24 - Tabby McTat Week of 11/11/24 - The Gruffalo Week of 18/11/24 - Room on the Broom Further themes will be added. Learners can join the class at any point. This is an ongoing course so each class stands alone. We focus on a different theme from the books each week whilst developing comprehension skills, grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing. Learners can join the class no matter how much of the series they have read. Each week will include a range of teaching activities including reading out loud, videos, discussions, activity sheets, Q+A, slides and more. Parental Guidance
Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.
