Students will need a copy of the book The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. The assigned chapters must be read or listened to BEFORE class. Students can use their own books, library books, ebook, or even listen to the audio book.
The Hobbit is an adventure that includes hungry unmannerly dwarves, hungry trolls, a vindictive dragon, extraordinary wizards and one reluctant thief. There are battle scenes, and the adventures have occasions where they have to fight for their lives. This book is best suited to students in their teen or tween years. Ms. Carol always advises parents to pre-screen their student’s reading selections, even if you just listen to the audiobook!
