Meet Paddington Bear, who comes from Darkest Peru and who loves marmalade sandwiches. Students will delight in this well loved, classic story about an adorable bear and his misadventures. This is a great introductory book club, and A Bear Called Paddington, by Michael Bond, is sure to please. During class time, full participation in class discussion is expected. There is grace for a shy student, of course, but students will be encouraged to dive into the discussion as they acclimate to the group. Each student will have a turn to share their thoughts and ideas. I will have questions and discussion prompts ready each week, should conversation lag. After our discussion time, we will end with a game if time permits! My book clubs are typically highly engaging, highly interactive, very lively! Chapters will be assigned to be read ahead of time, before class. There are 8 chapters in this book. All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, character studies, guessing what happens next, and ending with fun games related to the book. Our last class will be a book party!
