US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
In this one-time class learners will enjoy a "costume party" with their peers and gain some new book recommendations, too! This class is all about having fun, meeting friends, and enjoying good books! Class will begin with quick introductions. We will show off our character costumes (these don't need to be fancy, just a quick DIY with things from home will do!) Then, each learner will get a chance to share their favorite book with the class. - I will ask learners to share a quick summary (retelling), the character they are dressed like, and why they love that book! Finally, I will present three books recommendations and the class will vote on which book they want to hear read aloud. With the social nature of the class, cameras should be on and participation is highly encouraged! Join us! Fun guaranteed!

Hey there!
I’m Ms. Madison. I am a certified elementary and early childhood educator with five years of experience in public school classrooms. I have experience teaching second and fifth grade, but have worked with students of all ages as a tutor, a summer camp leader, and a volunteer. In second grade I taught all subjects, learned how to develop a love for reading in my students, and became invested in developing social emotional skills with my learners. As a fifth grade teacher I specialized in teaching reading, writing, and social studies. During this time, I realized my love for teaching history, integrating it into reading and writing, and gained a lot of experience teaching virtually.
In my classroom learners are welcome to be themselves, share their ideas, and participate in lively discussions. I love teaching classes that open young minds to new ideas, teach empathy and compassion, and inspire children to love learning. My favorite subjects to teach are reading and history. I love combining the two to make learning even more impactful and engaging!
I am certified to teach Gifted and Talented learners. I am also finishing up my ESOL certification and recently applied to get my master's degree. I love to learn and I strive to develop my students into lifelong learners as well.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy baking, traveling, hiking, and spending time with my family.
I hope you will join me soon! I can’t wait to meet you!
