Teacher expertise and credentials
Welcome to Book & Pen Nook! I’m Mrs. Friedland, and I can’t wait to help your learner dive into the worlds of poetry and reading. I’ve been teaching elementary and middle school since 2014, and my favorite thing is guiding learners to see how words can be a tool for change, a refuge of comfort, or simply a source of joy.

I believe when learning feels enjoyable, progress happens naturally. That's why I'm always looking for ways to make it fun, interactive, and help learners connect to the material. At the same time, I keep the focus on helping them grow and improve their skills.

Outside of teaching, I’m a published author and copywriter. My middle-grade novel "Doodle War" and poetry collection "Brilliant Bonds" reflect my passion for connecting people and expression. In copywriting, I craft marketing materials like websites and brochures for non-profits and businesses, applying the art of persuasive, impactful writing.

When I’m not working, I love reading, hanging out with my son, and listening to podcasts. I look forward to inspiring your learner to unlock their own creativity and explore the magic of language.
