Who's up for a Build Challenge? ME!! I can't wait for this challenging hands-on class. Each week you'll be presented with two themes, and you'll be able to choose which one you want to build. Who doesn't like choices? Then you'll have 25-30 minutes to build. While building we'll have plenty of time to talk with each other too. After 25-30 minutes we'll all share what we created. It's always exciting to see each learner's unique building style show through. Don't like to share? That's fine, our shy participants don't have to share. This will be such an exciting challenge for our building fans out there. Week of February 4- Star Wars or Football (Superbowl) Week of February 11- Valentine's Day or Pirate Week of February 18- Pets/Animals or Food Week of February 25- Village/Town or Video Game Week of March 3- Plane or Free Choice Week of March 10- St. Patrick's Day or Treasure Hunt Week of March 17- House or Theme Park Week of March 31- Easter or Movie/Game Week of April 7- Signs of Spring or Boat Week of April 14- Any Animal or Zipline Week of April 21- Fidget Toy or Free Choice Week of April 28- May the Fourth Be With You! Teacher expertise and credentials
Maryland Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I grew up in Wisconsin where I completed my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education at UW Stout. I've taught for the public school system for 14 years in a variety of positions including classroom teacher, interventionist, ELL teacher and elementary science lab teacher. I hold a Masters Degree in Reading and School Administration from Johns Hopkins. After leaving the public school system I've spent the last several years teaching middle school Science and History at a homeschool tutorial while being a homeschool mom. I enjoy teaching hands on engaging courses that spark the interest of students with the ultimate goal of encouraging them to become life long learners. I welcome student interaction and questions.
In my personal life I LOVE to read, travel and explore new areas, especially the beach! I am a Girl Scout leader and adore every single girl in my troop. As a troop leader I am certified in several outdoors areas- archery, canoe, kayak, camping, etc. I can't wait to share some of my love of the outdoors with families here on Outschool.
