Students will learn and/or be reminded of the importance the Juneteenth holiday and how to dance about it.
Sesame Street was a childhood favorite of mine so when I came across this song, I just HAD to dance to it. It is perfect! The lyrics are wonderful words of encouragement and education for students to gather an idea about Juneteenth in a short amount of time. The music has a great beat and the happy tone of the music will force us to smile and have a great time celebrating! I cannot wait!
Students are encouraged to wear something that is comfortable. I encourage them to being water or have it near for hydration. They do not have to wear shoes as socks are fine. Please consider the floor that you'll use as it may be slippery.
-Class will begin with a warm up to prepare our bodies to dance for the duration of the class to prevent muscle injury. -Students are encouraged to take this class where they have plenty of space for safe mobility. -They do not need shoes, however loose attire is highly recommended. -Students should have access to water to stay hydrated.
