In this One-Time Class, students will learn about sharks through interactive reading, discussion, and active listening. We will also learn how to draw a shark. Get ready to be a JAW-some learner!!

Class Experience

In this One-Time Class, learners will explore the study of sharks and what it means to be a Shark Biologist. Learners will learn through interactive reading, fun discussion, active listening, and movement...they will learn how to draw a shark! 

Learners will be able to complete different tasks by reading and learning about the following concepts:
*Where do sharks live? (Learners will discover the different ocean zones.)
*Why do sharks have so many teeth? (Anatomy of a shark.)
*Are sharks endangered? (Shark hunting and shark conservation.)

Teacher will read facts about sharks following the concepts listed above. Teacher will check for comprehension during class discussion.
Learners will answer comprehension questions about topics discussed.
Learners will complete a directed drawing of a shark. Depending on how engaged and interactive students are during class, the time allotted to complete the directed drawing may be limited. 
Lesson Closure

Prior to each class, I will send resources and directions specific to the lesson. Please print them out and have your child come with them to class. This material will only require basic supplies such as paper, pencil, crayons, glue...etc.

I am a 4th grade teacher who is passionate about teaching all things Reading & Language Arts. I am especially passionate about integrating other subjects such as, social studies and science, into my reading lessons. I have a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialty in literacy and bilingual education.
