Projects
Project Title: Cryptocurrency Research and Presentation Objective: Students will research a specific cryptocurrency or blockchain project and present their findings to the class. This project will help them apply what they’ve learned throughout the course while developing research and presentation skills. Project Components: Choose a Cryptocurrency or Blockchain Project: Students will select from a provided list of popular cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, etc.) or innovative blockchain projects (like NFTs, decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, or smart contracts).
Progress Report
Teacher will provide a weekly progress report to update families of students' progression.

In our engaging 4-week "Cryptocurrency 101" course, students will explore the fascinating world of digital currencies and blockchain technology. Here’s what parents can expect:

What Will Be Taught?

Students will learn the fundamentals of cryptocurrency, including its history, key concepts, and how it impacts the global economy. By the end of the course, they'll have a solid understanding of various cryptocurrencies, how transactions work, and the basics of investing.

Topics Covered:

1. How blockchain technology works
2. Bitcoin and altcoins: differences and similarities
3. Wallets and exchanges: how to buy and store cryptocurrencies
4. The role of cryptocurrency in the financial system
5. Risks and benefits of investing in cryptocurrency
6. Real-world examples of cryptocurrency use cases

Class Structure:

The class will meet twice a week for 4 weeks, allowing for in-depth exploration of each topic. Each session will be structured to include:

Engaging video lectures and discussions on key concepts.
Group discussions and collaborative exercises to encourage peer learning.
Regular assessments to reinforce learning and gauge comprehension.

For continued learning, parents will be able to enroll students in Cryptocurrency 102 starting November 2024.

Students will gain the skills to safely create a digital wallet, conduct transactions, and understand the process of buying, selling, and storing cryptocurrencies.
