Class Experience

The moves in 2020 and 2021 by the US Federal Reserve, in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, will be unnoticed by many. Most do not realize what the reserve is, what a currency versus a money is, and how all of this has lead to new ideas for money such as bitcoin.

While the ultimate goal of this course is to understand bitcoin (what it is, how it works) we must, by necessity, step back and start to understand money.

In Class 1 we will define what a US dollar is today (and thus, what all other currencies in the world are based upon).

In Class 2 we will discuss historical currencies as well as the gold standard (which most people believe still exists).

In Class 3 we will be ready to turn to bitcoin - what it is, how it's created, and what it's potential could be beyond merely money.

Finally, in Class 4 we will learn how to use bitcoin, how it's transacted, and the state of bitcoin and other crypto-currencies today.
