Class Experience
We will explore the beauty of watercolor while learning about negative space. Students will learn to control the water to paint mix to achieve proper value. We will discuss what colors to begin a watercolor with, and how to use a background to create a foreground. We will have some basic colors to use and mixing our own colors will be encouraged. I have been painting, and teaching art for over twenty years and continue to be inspired by my students' skill and creativity.
8 inch by 10 inch watercolor paper, bowl or water, paper towels, number 12 round brush that comes to a point, 1/2 inch square, flat top brush, palette paper (or a watercolor tray or foam plate), Watercolor paint. A set is easy to find a craft stores. We will use white, yellow, orange, alizarin crimson(red), purple, blue, green, brown and black.
I will write a brief note to the student after class.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
