US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
This engaging 12-lesson course perfectly aligns with the Bio Part I curriculum (Grades 9-11). Upon successful completion, a learner will earn a certificate of completion and if requested a letter grade. I will teach the following topics: Week 1-2 - cells (eukaryotes, prokaryotes) cell structure Week 2- 3 macromolecules (lipids, sugars, proteins, nucleic acids) briefly structure and function (more details in part II) Week 4-5 - genetics terms, Mendel's pea experiment, dominant, recessive inheritance, punnet squares - one trait Week 6 - Punnet squares one trait, sex-linked inheritance, co-dominance (blood types), practice questions Week 7- two-hybrid crosses (two traits)- optional Week 8-9 mitosis, cell cycle, meiosis, practice Week 9-10 - biodiversity (domains, kingdoms, binomial nomenclature), bacteria, virus, harmful/beneficial bacteria - students are assigned individual projects and present their work. Worksheets with practice material are uploaded for each session. After the instructional period, students will engage in practical application and dedicated project work. Occasionally, students may be directed to breakout rooms for teamwork or individual progress assessments. My teaching method involves a blend of whiteboard demonstrations and slide presentations. Upon successful completion of the course material, along with the submission of all projects and assignments, students will be provided with a course completion transcript. This document is valuable for university applications or high school credit requirements. Additionally, a letter grade can be included upon request. I am looking forward to teaching your learner!
