During this class we are going to dive into the world of plants. Students will walk away with a general understanding of how plants function, what their basic biological structures are, and why they are important to the environment. We will uncover amazing adaptations of different plant species and use real life plants as examples! My teaching style is fun and upbeat! My goal is for students to feel excited about plants and empowered to learn more! There will be clips, discussion and slides to keep learners engaged.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about basic structures of plants such as roots, stems, leaves, cells, etc. We will discuss how plants are different from animals and what they provide to ecosystems that make them so crucial to the survival of living things. We will also cover how plants function, learning key terms such as photosynthesis. We will briefly discuss different plant groups, with lots of examples of plants students may encounter day to day, but also with amazing plants all over the world, like the Baobab Tree.
