Class Experience

In this class, we will explore some of the most popular dishes in the British Isles. British food, like the country itself, has a very long and interesting history. Some of their most iconic dishes have interesting and fun names. For example, would you eat a 'toad in the hole'? There's a very interesting story behind the naming of that popular family dinner. What's the difference between 'cottage' and 'shepherd' pie? Did you know that fish and chips played an important role in World War II and that a beloved British dessert is named after a queen? This one-time class uses a slide-show format that aims to encourage each student's ideas and opinions. With a dash of history and a pinch of geography, I hope your student will come away with some new knowledge about Great Britain's most delectable dishes.
My teaching style is fun and interactive. I enjoy teaching small groups and encourage creativity and independent thought.
