Intermediate - Advanced Level
In this fun weekly ongoing class, we will be working with learners to teach them how to train their own dogs in intermediate and advanced cues and commands. We will learn about using less treat rewards and fading cues and prompts. This teacher uses positive techniques and commands. This class is ongoing, and students can join anytime. Each meeting, we will be learning to teach basic and intermediate commands for dogs or older puppies such as sit, stay, recall, place, loose leash walking, leave-it, etc. We will also learn tricks such as shake, spin, roll over, and crawl like a snake. Learners will share feedback and experiences in training their dogs. Learners can join at any time and are not affected as each week the previous skill will be reviewed and weekly commands are able to be taught in one session. New Year New Beginnings! Other Details
Learning Needs
Teacher demonstrates cues, uses visuals, repeats instructions and asks questions to check for understanding.
Parental Guidance
Dogs are unpredictable and may take longer to learn commands or tricks than expected. Some dogs may not be able to do certain tricks due to age or size. Space is needed to train dogs and not all dogs will be able to do every trick. Dogs are different from humans — A child may need to be reminded that dogs have a different way of communicating. It is recommended that you have the puppy or new dog at least 3 weeks before enrolling in a class.
