***Are you new to Outschool? Use code LUCIANA20 to save $20 off your first class.*** Welcome Parents and Students! I am thrilled to announce PART 2 of my very popular “BEING A GOOD FRIEND” Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) class. Students can join the classes in any order, as they do not build on each other. It's okay to join either course at any time! :-) This ongoing class will help students increase self-esteem, self-awareness, helping behaviours, and improve positive attitudes among peers. To facilitate learning and student interaction, we will read short stories and scenarios about people in various real-life scenarios. Cooperatively, we will discuss the social scenarios presented each week and students will practice problem-solving, evaluate different solution paths, and resolve conflicts in various friendship scenarios. As an ongoing class, students can join any week and there is no need to catch up on the previous lesson. EXAMPLES OF TOPICS COVERED: ⟶ Self-esteem and the introduction to "Thinking Mistakes". ⟶ Understanding “Thinking Mistakes”, and how to run fact checks to build higher self-esteem. ⟶ Positive thinking and identifying typical negative thoughts related to social situations. ⟶ Avoidance and Motivation. ⟶ Assertiveness, Circle of Control and Positive Body Language. ⟶ Self-regulation and triggers - understanding the power of self-control. ⟶ Identifying and handling friendship troubles. ⟶ Handling embarrassment with confidence and assertiveness. ⟶ Setting boundaries with confidence. ♡♡♡ All of my classes welcome neurotypical students, neurodivergent students, students with ADHD, and students on the Autism spectrum. ♡♡♡ Class Schedule Sample: Week of September 23rd: Handling Embarrassment.
