In this 4 week class learners will learn the basics of playing the recorder, including proper breathing, mouth placement, and finger placement.
Class experience
In this 4 week class learners will learn the basics of playing the recorder. They will practice proper finger placement, mouth & tongue placement, and breathing for recorder playing. Classes will include finger exercises to increase finger dexterity as well as tongue and breathing exercises to help learners produce the most beautiful sound they can on the recorder. They will learn how to play the notes C to C (or Do to Do) and practice these notes using the C major scale. Throughout the class...

Homework Offered
Each week pdf files will be in the classroom to help aid learners in their practice between classes. It is highly encouraged for learners to practice between classes.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Learners will need to bring a recorder to class. We will be learning soprano recorder, so please be sure your learner's recorder is a soprano recorder. It is also important that the recorder be 2 or 3 pieces so that we can practice with just the head joint for mouth & tongue and breathing exercises, and just the bottom section for fingering exercises. Please let me know if you have any questions about recorder type.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be strongly encouraged to practice between classes.
