Class Experience

Does your child struggle with problem-solving? This class will teach students ways to think critically using clues. We will first discuss solving everyday problems. A beginning logic problem will be presented so I can assess where students are and what they already know. Learners will practice solving logic problems, progressing from easier to more difficult as time allows. This small class will allow for low-risk group discussion and attention to each student. Questioning techniques will guide learners to discover how they can arrive at the correct answer and students will share their thinking. To end our class, we will play a game that applies logical thinking with fun.

Learning Goals

Students will recognize that they solve problems every day. The goal of this class is for learners to understand their thinking pathway, be equipped with more critical thinking skills, and to practice solving logic problems. Equally important is the integration of high engagement and fun while learning. Students will also discuss ways that learning to problem-solve can help them every day as they apply what they have learned in this class.
