Beginner Level
Students will be introduced to multiplication through discussion, interactive slides and games. This is a great class for learners who are new to multiplication or want to be able to discuss multiplication instead of just memorizing the facts. Students will learn about factors, written equations, visuals and how to use multiplication in their every day lives. Students will access the Nearpod Slides and activities by clicking on the link, and/or qr code shared during class time. They will follow along on their own screen and play games on their own devices. Our teachers love discussion and will encourage students to share what they know about multiplication through open ended questions and prompts. Learners will be able to play games with one another and discuss prompts with one another. Week of 6/5: Multiplication Introduction and Vocabulary Week of 6/12: Repeated Addition, Grouping and Arrays Week of 6/19: Factors and Fact Families Week of 6/26: Multiplication Review Game

Parental Guidance
Learners will use Nearpod but do not need an account to do so. A link will be shared with students during class time to access the slides.
Supply List
Students will need 50 items from around the house to visually show multiplication. You can use beans, blocks, cereal, etc.
