Homework
2-4 hours per week. Learners will be asked to practice every day for at least 20-30 minutes. Lesson guides and worksheets will be provided for reference, and quizzes may be assigned to assess progress. There will be no "pop" quizzes, and no surprise tests.
Assessment
Learner will be consistently kept aware of progress via feedback during our lessons. Music is a great way to hear your own progress, and I feel like that motivates students very well. No letter grades will be given, but parents are more than welcome to request specifics about their child's progress. I am more than happy to oblige.

Class Experience

Learning how to play an instrument should not only be informative, but it should also be fun! I specialize in shy and nervous beginner music students; I once was one as well. I want to work together to create an environment that helps you learn and accomplish whatever goals you have.

Beginner continued lessons will provide you with:

*Basic understanding of the ukulele
*Feedback on technique
*Basic lessons in reading music
*Strumming and picking techniques
*Lessons in rhythm and time
*Basic chord structures and an introduction to scales
*Material for practice
*Encouragement!
Learning Goals
This class is designed to make you a better ukulele player, and to give you a better understanding of music.

Learning Needs
A student's equity and inclusion is of the utmost importance to me. Different learners are always respected. Just let me know what the learner needs, and I will do my best to accommodate them.
Supply List
Learner will be required to bring a ukulele to class. At times the learner may be required to print out worksheets, or at least be able to write down answers/edit planned quizzes, or worksheets. Learner will also need a ukulele tuner and a metronome, but these can be easily downloaded free on your phone, tablet, or found online :)
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I am a professional singer-songwriter, and when I am not on the road I love to teach. I play the piano and ukulele as well as sing. I have a variety of ukuleles, and I even play an electric solid-body too!
