Teacher expertise and credentials
For the last 20 plus years, I've taught both Band & Orchestra music classes with experience with every instrument from Beginner to Advanced levels (Elementary, Middle, Highschool, collegiate and adult)!
For my education, I've received a Bachelors of Music, in Flute Performance from San Diego State and a Masters of Music in Flute Performance from California State University Fresno. In addition, I was given the distinction of being an All-American Scholar in 2002. I've won many honors in various flute competitions.
I've been active as a flute clinician for SDFG, PHS, UHS, TPMS to name a few in the San Diego area as well as being a flute clinician in the Fresno area for Buchannon HS and Clovis East HS. It was fun being a guest flute specialist for SCSBOA and CBDA, as well as for Fresno USD's buy back days and professional development days. Further, I was a guest conductor for Fresno State's Flute Festival, San Diego Flute Guild Flute Festival and Fresno Pacific's Flute Festival-where I've also taught several flute master classes.
It's been an honor to have also served on the board for the San Diego flute Guild as Treasurer and Vice President in the 90s and as Corresponding Secretary from 2006-2012. In addition, I was on the board of the Fresno and Madera Counties Music Educators Association as the Orchestra Representative from 2002-2004, and a clinician at SCSBOA and OCUSD for SmartMusic computer program and Finale.
Currently, I'm a member of many professional associations including but not limited to Music Teachers Association of California, CMEA, San Diego Flute Guild, NFA and SCSBOA. Lastly, I also have students participate in the Royal Conservatory's "The Acheivement Program" TAP and MTAC's Certificate of Merit.
