US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner Level
In this class students will be taught: 1. Basic piano techniques for right and left hand. 2. Reading and reproducing rhythm patterns. 3. Reading and reproducing musical notation in Treble and Bass clefs. 4. Practice skills and planning. 5. Foundational music theory. The class will follow a set curriculum. For students older than 11, the Suzuki Method and/ or the John Thompson Method. For students younger than 11, we will use Faber Piano Adventures. Depending on student needs, and prior experience playing, curriculum can be customized to fit specific goals and learning styles. My philosophy as a teacher is to use student interests and developmental needs to help encourage student engagement. Students have ownership and autonomy in the classroom to encourage responsibility and investment in their learning.
