Class Experience

This is a 3 week camp that I am offering for beginner students. This will be a fun way to stay individualized and also learn with new friends in class. I love watching young children learn how to express themselves through music and cultivate a life-long appreciation for music. I was an elementary teacher for 10 years and have taught private piano lessons for 25 years. The students I teach in my home learn from the series that I will be teaching from in this class. We will be using the primer lesson book in the Faber Piano Adventures series. I thought this would be a nice way to keep the cost low for materials. Families only need to purchase one book from the series. We will be doing pages each week from the lesson book and it will be used for the entire class. On occasion I may skip a page or add something not in the book to teach something I think the students would love and learn from. We will not be able to finish this book in the 3 weeks; however, I hope to set up a second class for all interested. I am so excited to meet each of your children. Here is a brief overview of what we will cover in our 3 week primer class.

Class 1: Introduction to Playing and Proper Technic at the Piano
Proper Sitting Position at the Piano and Making a Round Hand Shape

*We will end this last lesson by giving each student the opportunity to share their favorite song from our 6 week piano class. It is so fun to hear children play for each other and share their special gifts and talents.

I love to support and encourage young students. I am so excited to meet your child and make music together week to week. If your child has taken my beginner one-time class, I will be thrilled to see them again. If this is your child's very first lesson, we will make this a fun class to look forward to week to week.
