4 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this four-week group guitar class, we will meet twice a week for four weeks and will learn more chords and play more songs. In part 1, we learned the chords G, C, D, A, and em. We will review those chords again, but feel free to jump into part 2 if you already know G, C, and D, and how to tune a guitar! Week 1: We will review chords G, C, D, A, and em, and practice playing songs that incorporate those chords. Weeks 2-4: We will continue learning chords, practice strumming, switching between chords, and playing with correct rhythms. We will also practice playing songs together. In our final class, I will have each student have a song prepared to play for the group on their own. They can play whatever song they wish, as long as it is not offensive or vulgar. They can sing the song as they play if they wish, but it is not required. This is a hands-on class, so please have your guitar ready! I will play along with my students and show them up close to the camera where each finger goes on the fretboard and strings. I try to help each student as much as possible and go at a pace where everyone can learn effectively. My goal for every lesson is to have each student be encouraged - to try, to learn, to succeed, and to enjoy this beautiful instrument. I look forward to seeing you in class. Let's dive in and learn together!

Supply List
An acoustic guitar is the only required material for this course. A guitar pick is optional, but not necessary. No curriculum needs to be purchased for this course. I will provide links to songs to look up and play as we progress through the classes. I will also send the links to each student after class in the conversations tab, so they can have access to the songs to practice on their own throughout the week.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Meagan and I am a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). I received a Bachelor's degree in music in Arkansas, then moved to Georgia to complete another Bachelor's and a Master's degree in music therapy. I have worked with all ages and populations through music therapy and my personal life, and love helping and serving others.
I am currently a stay-at-home-mom to two beautiful girls, but I still have a passion for music. I am also passionate about baking, and love to learn American Sign Language (ASL), do crafts, and much more. I look forward to using my knowledge and skills to teach music classes, including guitar lessons, fundamentals of music, music theory, singing, and much more. I also hope to incorporate my other passions and hobbies into other classes such as beginner sign language, crafts, baking, and more.
I strive to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere in my classes, and I hope to see you soon!
