Class Experience
Hello, Bonjour and Welcome! Do you want your little learner to learn French but don't know where to start? These small-group FLEX French lessons revolve around sight word introduction and repetition as sight words are essential for early learners to master not only to increase a learner's reading comprehension skills but to increase their confidence. Throughout our bilingual lessons, the learners will also be exposed to various common French words to aid in their language development. Each week, the learners will be introduced to new French sight words through seeing, hearing, speaking, spelling and writing techniques. We will also review the sight words from the week(s) before. The French words will then be repeated and reinforced with fun learning games through the interactive-style video recordings. The learners will also work on reading text and various passages and work up to reading short books! Learners will verbally interact with the recordings and will complete reading, writing and speaking exercises along with the video instruction. Learners may also respond to the class instruction with their own video or audio recording of them completing the reading/writing/speaking exercises, worksheets and practising the week's sight words. Learners may further engage with the teacher and with other learners through an interactive discussion board and a fun Kahoot game. For this class, learners should already be familiar with the French alphabet and have a basic knowledge of the French spoken language. This class is a follow-up to the Series 1/2 class however it is not necessary that learners have taken any previous classes with me. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, bonjour and welcome! My name is Tara and I am a lawyer turned preschool home-schooling mom of 2! We are a bilingual (French-English) family and live in the only bilingual province in Canada- New Brunswick.
I have studied in France and took both my Law Degree and my Bachelor of Arts Degree primarily in French. I have completed my TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification and love teaching French and English to students on-line. I studied music in University and am an active singer in my community.
I love to teach through music and song as I believe that music plays a special part in learning for children. Through repetition of target vocabulary, songs provide a fun and effective way to learn a language. I believe that children learn the most when they are engaged and having FUN so I strive to make every learning experience as fun and interactive as possible!
I can’t wait to see you in class! À bientôt!
