If your young learner likes to draw OR if your young learner would like to learn to draw...this class is for them! Each class will start with a greeting and ensuring that every student has the required materials. I will use a document camera to show how to draw the picture and use descriptive words as I do so. We will work on identifying shapes and lines as we draw. Each picture will be drawn step-by-step. This requires the students to follow directions using their visual and auditory skills. Students should listen for our code word "gallery" throughout the class time. When the word "gallery" is said, students can hold up their pictures to share what they have completed so far. I try to do this 3-4 times throughout the class. When the picture is complete, the class will spend the time coloring our pictures with either crayons or colored pencils. I will give the students options for colors and adding details. Art is a form that has to be given options...there's no right or wrong! **Upon request: I can post a partially drawn picture to the classroom each week if your learner would prefer to trace along with us and then color.** Week of April 22: Seal/Whale Week of April 29: Lion Week of May 6: Unicorn Week of May 13: Beaver Week of May 20: Dragon Week of May 27: Planets/Alien Week of June 3: Koala Week of June 10: Cheeseburger/Fries/Pizza Week of June 17: Elephant Week of June 24: Gorilla/Jungle Week of July 1: Cat Week of July 8: Boat/Beach/Shark Week of July 15: Ice Cream Animals Week of July 22: Fennec Fox/Desert/Cactus Week of July 29: Hedgehog Week of August 5: Meerkat/Warthog Week of August 12: Octopus/Crab Week of August 19: Axolotl Week of August 26: Dinosaurs Week of September 2: Peacock Week of September 9: Sunflower/Pumpkin Week of September 16: Scarecrow Week of September 23: Farm/Animals Week of September 30: Mouse/Cheese Week of October 7: Deer Week of October 14: Bat/Moon/Forest Week of October 21: Spider/Butterfly Week of October 28: Sloth Week of November 4: Llama Week of November 11: Cow/Horse Week of November 18: Turkey Scene Week of November 25: Zebra Week of December 2: Owl Week of December 9: Duck Week of December 16: Penguin/Narwhal Week of December 23: Polar Bear Family Week of December 30: Moose/Pine Tree Week of January 6: Snowman Scene/Hot Cocoa/Mugs Week of January 13: Toucan Week of January 20: Yeti Week of January 27: Panda/Bamboo Forest Week of February 3: Raccoon Week of February 10: Squirrel/Acorn Week of February 17: Pig/Sheep Week of February 24: Lemur Week of March 3: Dog Week of March 10: Monkey Week of March 17: Fox Week of March 24: Flamingo Week of March 31: Chameleon Week of April 7: Rabbit Week of April 14: Hippo Week of April 21: Sea Turtle **The class will then return to the beginning of this list.** I offer weekly challenges for students who may want to take their drawings a step further. This could include adding certain backgrounds or adding other items/themes to their character. Be on the lookout for the challenges in the classroom! I will mention them during class as well! To complete the project, the students can use markers to outline their animal, food, or item. This makes the picture look more complete! If you allow your student to use markers, please, make sure that they are washable. If the students need more time, they are welcome to complete or add to their project after our class time! Photographs of their artwork can be added to the classroom page! I would love to see all of the completed projects! Let's get creative! **Please view the Parental Guidance section.**

Welcome to my online classroom! Learning and meeting new people can be exciting and fun for some, but nerve-wrecking for others. This is why my classroom is a silly and relaxed place where it's ok to make mistakes and ask questions.
I have had 14 years of teaching experience in the school/home/online settings, working with students who are shy, outgoing, with special needs, ESL, and gifted. My main goal is to make sure that each student feels heard and appreciated during every class that I teach.
