This course is a great starting place for learners who would love to start their cupcake decorating journey or kids who would simply like to try something new and creative! This course is awesome because students have the flexibility to bake and decorate their cupcakes whenever there is time in their schedule. Kids can start videos, rewatch tricky sections, or pause for a break at any time. In this course, students will first learn how to bake cupcakes. The first post will consist of baking cupcakes from scratch and baking cupcakes using a box cake mix with a fancy twist. For the rest of the class, students can use either technique for their cupcakes. The next thing students will work on is fillings for their cupcakes. We will start with fruit fillings and then move on to mascarpone fillings (which are absolutely delicious!). Then, students will learn how to make a basic buttercream frosting and top their cupcakes with basic designs (see the pink cupcakes in the cover photo). Next, students will practice making modeling chocolate to create fancy decorations, such as the sombreros on the cupcakes from my cover photo. Finally, students will put everything they have learned together to create themed cupcakes with a filling and awesome decoration. This course is fantastic for beginners! This class is a slight step up from my cake baking and decorating class. If you would like a class with the most basic instruction and techniques, I suggest you start there. If you have a young learner or a learner who isn’t familiar around a kitchen, please provide supervision. Students will be working with hot ovens and raw eggs.
Learning Goals
Students will learn some basic techniques for cupcake baking and decorating, and they will have fun learning!
