In this 6 week class, students will create all the goodies they can stand to confidently be able to say, "I can bake!" This class is led by a professional chef and will give lots of tips and tricks for real life!
In this 6 week course, we meet once a week to work on beginner baking skills, in the 6 weeks we will cover many different baking techniques and methods. We will discuss many different things such as kitchen safety, how to measure properly, review of baking material essentials, and various different baking method as each class will be dedicated to a certain technique. This class is taught in English.
Recipes that include materials and ingredients needed will be posted in the classroom every Sunday before class to allow ample time to gather ingredients. General baking supplies are required for this class including mixing bowls, whisks, rubber spatulas, measuring cups, measuring spoons, liquid measuring cups, rimmed baking sheets, square baking sheets, bundt pans, cake pans, pie pans, electric mixers, food processors, etc. **The only supply that is needed that may be uncommon is a food scale. These are easily found at most big box stores for about $10-$15.**
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
*Parental Guidance: In this class we will be handling sharp knives, hot pans, using stove tops, microwaves, and ovens, and a few small appliances. We will be actively baking during class. Depending on learner's skillset and knowledge more direct supervision may be required* **Allergen Warning: In this class we will use all the major allergens, wheat, dairy, soy, nuts, eggs, etc. This course is a traditional baking course so sometimes certain food alternative substitutions do not work well.
