Beginner Bakers - Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies | Introduction to Baking
Class experience
Join me for this baking class to learn how to create delicious chocolate chip cookies with your friends and family. We will change up the recipes each week so that learners are constantly trying something new and have the chance to use a variety of ingredients and kitchen equipment. We will begin each class with introductions, to ensure that everyone gets to know one another, followed by the class rules and expectations. We will then check to ensure that each learner has the right equipment...
Students will learn to follow a recipe step by step.
When you enroll in this class, you accept full responsibility for your learner's safety. It is essential that a responsible adult is in the same room as the learner (Outschool policy is that adults must remain off camera) and ready to step in to help if necessary. Learners will begin to chop ingredients and use knives for food preparation. Please be aware that sometimes sharper knives can be safer than blunt knives for chopping, as less force is necessary and they are less likely to slip or bounce off the food. Some recipes will require the use of a microwave to melt or heat ingredients. Adult supervision of knives, the microwave and hot ingredients is essential. Some recipes will need baking in the oven. An adult must be responsible for placing the food in the oven, checking on it during cooking and taking it out when necessary. Please ensure your learner has short sleeves, or close fitting long sleeves that will not get caught on equipment, long hair tied back and is wearing an apron or clothes that can be washed easily. Please ensure you check all your ingredients for possible allergens. Recipes can be adapted.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
