1 file available upon enrollmentIn this course, students will need minimal supplies. Any worksheets will be posted in the classroom portal before class starts so families have time to print. If you do not have access to a printer at home the teacher can also screen share the worksheet/activity so your child can still easily participate. Information for this class will be presented via a canva presentation which will be screen shared with students. In addition, Nearpod presentations will allow your child to access games and activities independently. The teacher is able to view student progress as they complete it on their own device. Instructions on how to use Nearpod can be viewed in the welcome message. No account is required. Depending on how quickly the students go through the material we may have time to do some additional exercises to practice the vocabulary. Please have your student bring a piece of paper and something to draw with to each class. If time allows we will use these materials to continue practicing the new words. They should come prepared to speak Spanish, interact with their classmates, and have fun! If there are any additional supplies they will be listed in the classroom section before the class begins.
3rd party sources used in this class include Nearpod and Canva. Nearpod allows students to draw on the presentation and demonstrate their knowledge in a nonverbal manner in addition to speaking activities and exercises. No account is necessary and using Nearpod is optional as the teacher also has the ability to screen share these activities. If your child would like to complete the nearpod activities independently they can access it using the link posted in the classroom portal before each lesson. Students will be able to draw and complete activities on a separate device like a tablet or phone. Students can submit their work to the teacher so the teacher can gauge their progress and understanding of the class objectives. A PDF with more instructions on how to use this online tool will be sent with the welcome message after enrollment. Canva is the website used to create the classroom lesson slides. These presentations will be screen shared. Unlike Nearpod, students do not have the ability to access this independently.
In this course, interactive features and activities will be embedded in the presentation using nearpod (https://nearpod.com/). This will allow students to draw on the presentation and demonstrate their knowledge in a nonverbal manner in addition to speaking activities and exercises. No account is necessary. Before class, a link will be shared in the classroom portal that will allow students to access this interactive slideshow. On select slides, students will be able to draw and complete activities. They can submit their work to the teacher so the teacher can gauge their progress and understanding of the class objectives. More instructions on how to use this online tool will be sent with the welcome message after enrollment. Lesson presentations are created using Canva.
