Exploring the basics of storytelling: plot, characters, and settings. Brainstorming session for unique story concepts. Initial writing exercises to spark creativity. Week of January 8, 2024: The Art of Writing and Developing Your Narrative Crafting compelling characters and settings. Developing a captivating plot and story arc. Exploring different writing styles and techniques. In-class writing activities to apply storytelling fundamentals. Week of January 15, 2024: Navigating the Publishing World Understanding the publishing process from manuscript to the final product. Exploring self-publishing options and online platforms. Discussing the importance of visuals: illustrations and cover design. Introduction to basic bookbinding techniques (optional). Week of January 22, 2024: Selling and Marketing Your Children's Book Introduction to marketing principles tailored for young authors.
