This is a fun beatboxing class to give the learner confidence to make music With their mouths by making sounds with a technique. It serves as a creative approach to poetic expression with beatboxing. 

Your learner will learn that beatboxing is the musical art of making percussion-like and record scratching-like sounds using our mouths to make the music.  We will practice these techniques together. 

We will practice with the teacher given sentences first to get practice pairing the beatboxing with the poetic sentence to create a rap. 

Teacher given example: “I have a pet rat. She’s too small for a hat.”

Each learner will have an opportunity to rap two sentences (their poetic expression) to the groups beatboxing effort. Not only will they learn beatboxing but they will learn to follow an established rhythm through this exercise. 

This is a fun way to get your learner thinking in poetically to express their thoughts, ideas, and/ or feelings creatively with beatboxing. My mother is deaf-blind and taught me various ways to “feel” music through this fun expression through play.
