Be Prepared for Precalculus
Class Experience
US Grade 9 - 12
This course will review algebra and geometry topics needed for success in Precalculus. The algebra concepts covered include graphs, transformations, compositions, and inverses of functions. The geometry skills covered include special right triangles, basic trigonometry, and vectors. In addition to reviewing these topics, the student will be introduced to how these topics will be applied to new concepts in a Precalculus class. The content of the class is broken down into 6 lessons. Each...

- Learners will refresh their skills in algebra and geometry skills needed to be successful in precalculus
I have taught high school math from pre-algebra through AP Calculus AB for many years. I am a certified mathematics teacher for grades 8-12 in Maryland.
0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Homework
Frequency: includedFeedback: includedDetails: A set of practice problems will be posted along with the lesson on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or each week. Students can choose to complete these problems and check their answers with the solution video that will be posted along with the next lesson. The final solution set will be posted on Sunday of the second week.
The student should be comfortable graphing polynomial and rational functions and solving right triangles using the trigonometric functions. These skills are typically taught in Algebra 2 and Geometry classes.
Graphing calculator or access to graphing calculator app or website Paper Pen or pencil
The web-based graphing calculator on Desmos may be used by students if they do not have access to a handheld graphing calculator. No account is required.
