Baroque Style Violin or Viola Coaching
Students will learn how to play their baroque music in a historically informed style. Examples of baroque violin and viola composers are Bach, Corelli, Vivaldi, Purcell, Telemann, Handel, Locatelli, Lully, and Muffat.

Class Experience
In this baroque style coaching learners will play a piece of their music from the baroque and I will help them with the stylistic aspects of their playing. We will go over topics that will include some of the following: - Bowing Style - Up vs Down bow - Articulation of short vs long notes - Releasing notes - Ornamentation - Differences between a baroque and modern violin and bow - Affect and gesture * Learners should have at least 1-2 years of violin/viola lesson experience. (The Bach Minuets in Suzuki Book 1 are a good starting point.) If you are unsure about whether your learner is ready for the class feel free to send me a message.

I teach violin lessons and classes on various topics relating to music and performing in a baroque style. Being Suzuki Book 1 & 2 registered, I have experience teaching violin from the very beginning and have taught online through Outschool since May of 2020. In teaching music I hope to deepen people's understanding of music of various styles and give them the tools to understand and play music that will enrich their lives in the long term.
I have a Bachelor's of Music in Violin Performance from the University of North Texas and am currently working towards my Master's in Baroque Violin at Indiana University. When not teaching I regularly with professional period instrument ensembles including the Dallas Bach Society, Lumedia MusicWorks, Bloomington Bach Cantata Project and the Oklahoma Bach Choir.
In addition to my musical pursuits, I can speak German, am an avid home cook, and happen to be a triplet.Reviews
