One on one voice training will be geared towards the student's goals in their singing journey. As we utilize a foundation for singing, students will be encouraged to not just be vocal musically but also in discovering their voice and learning how to ask questions. Students will be positively encouraged to find their voice and talent, while also be in a positive environment where they're welcomed to ask questions, explore their music and vocal abilities and find a reinforcement in their confidence, and thus inspiring a joy for art and singing that builds confidence and technical strenght.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I'm José Luis Maldonado, or Baritone JOE! I'm an opera singer, and currently receiving my Doctorate degree from Michigan State University! I received my Master's degree in vocal performance from the Manhattan School of Music, and my Bachelor's degree from Cal State Fullerton! I'm from Los Angeles, California, and have been lucky to travel and sing in Italy, France, China, Mexico and across the United States!
My teaching philosophy is that if you can breathe, if you can speak, you can sing! Training your voice is an individualized experience, and the process is so important! I have been lucky to not just sing opera, but jazz, musical theater, and recently rapped with Opera Grand Rapids in Michigan. Like my cooking, I like to mix my singing across genres, exploring and tapping into the creative quotient! The process of learning to sing should be fun and inspiring!
