Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
Begin an engaging journey through the evolution of ballet, from its origins in the Italian Renaissance courts to the cutting-edge contemporary performances of today.

We'll explore ballet history through videos, photos, slideshows, and lecture time. Students will take notes of key points on their note cards, then use their notes cards as reference for their project. (Teacher guidance on note-taking provided)

Weekly ongoing project: Students will build a timeline through the ballet eras and include the important dates, key figures, major events, and works that they learn each week in class. Project time has been built into the class duration. We will add to this project each week in class. Students will start their project in class and finish outside of class, if needed. Please have supplies ready at the first class (see supply list).
